Overview

Founded in 1994 and located in Grundy, Virginia, Appalachian School of Law was established to bring legal education and legal services to the underserved Appalachian region. The school received full ABA accreditation in 2006 and has built a reputation for producing practice-ready attorneys who often remain in the region to serve rural communities. It gained national attention in 2002 following a tragic shooting on campus, an event that reshaped campus security practices nationwide.
