Overview
Founded in 1918 with support from the Ball brothers' philanthropic family (of Ball Mason jar fame), Ball State University began as a teachers college and has grown into a comprehensive public research institution in Muncie, Indiana. It is particularly well known for its journalism and telecommunications programs, architecture and planning, and teacher education, with the David Letterman Communication and Media Building serving as a hub for aspiring broadcasters.
