Founded in 1905 as the State Dental College and later known as Baylor College of Dentistry after decades of affiliation with Baylor University, the institution became part of the Texas A&M University System in 1996 and was renamed the Texas A&M University College of Dentistry (still widely called Baylor College of Dentistry by alumni and locals). Located in the Dallas medical district, it is one of the oldest and most respected dental schools in the Southwest, known for rigorous clinical training, strong research output, and producing generations of practicing dentists across Texas.
