Overview
Founded in 1846, Beloit College is one of the oldest colleges in Wisconsin, established by New England settlers who modeled it on the small liberal arts colleges of the East Coast. It has long been recognized for its strong programs in anthropology, geology, and international relations, and for the Logan Museum of Anthropology, one of the finest collections of its kind at an undergraduate institution. Beloit is also well known for its unusually high proportion of international students relative to its size, giving it an outsized global reputation for a small Midwestern college.
