Overview
Founded in 1932 as a junior college affiliated with the Episcopal Church, Boise State University evolved through several transformations before becoming a four-year institution in 1965 and achieving university status in 1974. It has since grown into Idaho's largest university and earned Carnegie R2 research classification, distinguishing itself in fields such as computer science, engineering, public policy, and materials science.
