Overview
Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine was founded in 2016 in Las Cruces, New Mexico, as a private, non-profit medical school established in partnership with New Mexico State University. It was created specifically to address physician shortages in New Mexico, West Texas, and other underserved rural and border regions, with a strong emphasis on training osteopathic physicians committed to primary care and community health. As one of the newer osteopathic medical schools in the country, BCOM has quickly built a reputation for its mission-driven curriculum and focus on cultural competency in medically underserved areas.
