Overview
California Health Sciences University College of Osteopathic Medicine was founded in 2018 in Clovis, California, established as part of the broader California Health Sciences University system, which also includes a College of Pharmacy. The school was created specifically to address the severe shortage of physicians in the San Joaquin Valley and other underserved regions of California, with a mission centered on training osteopathic physicians who will practice primary care and other needed specialties in medically underserved areas. As a newer institution, it does not yet carry the long-established reputation of older osteopathic schools, but it has quickly built partnerships with regional hospitals and clinics for clinical training.
