Overview
Founded in 1929, California State University Maritime Academy is one of only seven maritime academies in the United States and the sole one on the West Coast. Located on the Vallejo waterfront along the Carquinez Strait, the academy became part of the California State University system in 1995, blending rigorous technical and engineering education with maritime licensure preparation. It is best known for producing U.S. Coast Guard licensed merchant marine officers and for its strong placement in shipping, logistics, engineering, and defense-related careers.
