Founded in 1837 as Indiana Asbury University and renamed in 1884 after benefactor Washington C. DePauw, DePauw University is one of the oldest liberal arts colleges in the Midwest. It has built a national reputation for producing Fortune 500 CEOs, journalists, and leaders, and is particularly known for its School of Music, Media School, and strong pre-law and pre-med preparation.
