Founded in 1964 by the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, DeSales University is a Catholic institution rooted in the Salesian tradition of gentleness, humility, and personal attention to students. Originally established as Allentown College of St. Francis de Sales, it became DeSales University in 1998 as it expanded its graduate offerings. The university is particularly well-regarded for its nursing, physician assistant, and physical therapy programs, as well as its acclaimed theatre and performing arts department, home to the Act 1 professional theatre series.
