Overview
The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine-Auburn Campus was established in 2015 as part of the multi-campus VCOM system, which was founded in 2002 in Blacksburg, Virginia, to address physician shortages in medically underserved areas. Located in Auburn, Alabama, in partnership with Auburn University, the campus offers the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree with a curriculum emphasizing primary care, rural medicine, and community-based clinical training. VCOM has grown into one of the largest osteopathic medical education systems in the country, known for its focus on producing physicians who practice in rural and medically underserved regions of the Southeast.
