Overview
Founded in 1885 as the Woman's College of Baltimore, Goucher College became coeducational in 1986 and has built a reputation as an innovative liberal arts institution. Originally located in downtown Baltimore, the college relocated to its current suburban Towson campus in the 1950s. Goucher is nationally recognized for being one of the first colleges to require all undergraduates to study abroad, a hallmark of its global education philosophy, and it maintains a strong tradition of interdisciplinary and student-directed learning.
