Overview
Harrisburg Area Community College was founded in 1964 as the first community college established in Pennsylvania, created to provide affordable higher education and workforce training to the residents of the Harrisburg region. Over the decades HACC expanded into a multi-campus institution serving thousands of students annually through associate degree programs, certificate programs, and transfer pathways to four-year universities. The college is best known for its nursing and allied health programs, workforce development partnerships, and role as a critical access point to higher education for first-generation and non-traditional students.
