Originally founded in 1900 as the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and later known briefly under various names including Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine during periods of its history, this institution has trained osteopathic physicians for over a century. It merged with Midwestern University in 1988, becoming one of the founding colleges of that institution's health sciences network.
