Overview
Indiana University Indianapolis emerged in 2024 from the restructuring of IUPUI (Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis), a partnership founded in 1969 between Indiana University and Purdue University. With Purdue's programs largely transitioning to a separate Purdue Indianapolis presence, the campus continues under full Indiana University administration, retaining its identity as a major urban research institution. It is best known for its highly regarded health sciences programs, including the Indiana University School of Medicine, one of the largest medical schools in the United States, as well as strong offerings in nursing, dentistry, law, and public affairs.
