Overview

Founded in 1885 as the University of Southern California College of Medicine, it is one of the oldest medical schools in the western United States. Renamed in 1999 following a major gift from the W.M. Keck Foundation, the school has grown into a nationally recognized center for medical education, biomedical research, and clinical care, affiliated with Keck Medicine of USC, LAC+USC Medical Center, and Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
