Founded in 1909 as Lesley Normal School to train kindergarten teachers, Lesley University has grown into a comprehensive institution recognized for its programs in education, counseling and psychology, and the arts. Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, near Harvard Square, Lesley built its reputation on progressive, experiential approaches to teaching and learning, and it later expanded significantly through the merger with the Art Institute of Boston, which became Lesley University College of Art and Design.
