Founded in 1917 by Janet Daniels Schenck as the Neighborhood Music School, Manhattan School of Music has grown into one of the most prestigious conservatories in the world, moving to its current Morningside Heights campus in 1969. The school is internationally recognized for its rigorous classical performance, jazz, and composition programs, drawing students from over 45 countries who train alongside a faculty of active performers from the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera, and leading jazz ensembles.
