Overview
The Marian University Tom and Julie Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine was established in 2013 as Indiana's first medical school in over a century, admitting its inaugural class in 2013. Founded with a strong mission orientation toward addressing physician shortages, particularly in primary care and rural and underserved urban areas, the college has grown quickly to become a significant contributor to Indiana's healthcare workforce. It awards the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree and emphasizes whole-person, patient-centered care rooted in osteopathic principles. The college was renamed in recognition of a major gift from Tom and Julie Wood, longtime supporters of the university.
