Founded in 1867 as Western Maryland College, McDaniel College is a private liberal arts institution located in Westminster, Maryland. Renamed in 2002 in honor of longtime president William Roberts McDaniel, the college has a long tradition of academic rigor combined with a strong sense of community. It is well known for its small class sizes, individualized attention, and commitment to the liberal arts and sciences, as well as its notable study-abroad partnership program in Budapest, Hungary.
