Overview
Middle Georgia State University was formed in 2013 through the consolidation of Macon State College and Middle Georgia College, creating a comprehensive institution within the University System of Georgia. Headquartered in Macon with additional campuses across central Georgia, the university traces its roots back to 1884, making it one of the older public institutions in the state. MGA is best known for its School of Aviation, one of the few collegiate flight training programs in the Southeast, as well as strong programs in nursing, business, and information technology.
