Overview
Founded in 1992 by Jerry Sherlock, New York Film Academy began as a summer filmmaking workshop on the campus of New York University and has since grown into an international institution with campuses in New York, Los Angeles, South Beach, and abroad. NYFA distinguishes itself through a 'learning by doing' philosophy, placing students behind cameras and on sets from their very first days rather than emphasizing traditional lecture-based instruction. The school has built a reputation for producing working filmmakers, actors, and industry professionals through short, intensive conservatory programs as well as accredited degree offerings.
