Overview
Founded in 1977, NYITCOM was established to train osteopathic physicians with an emphasis on primary care and community health, becoming one of the first osteopathic medical schools in New York State. The college has built a strong reputation for producing physicians who serve underserved and rural communities, and it expanded in 2016 with a second campus in Jonesboro, Arkansas to address physician shortages in that region. NYITCOM is part of New York Institute of Technology and emphasizes a holistic, patient-centered approach to medicine grounded in osteopathic principles.
