Overview
Founded in 1885, the Claude W. Pettit College of Law is one of the oldest law schools in Ohio and has long emphasized practical, hands-on legal training over purely theoretical instruction. Renamed in honor of alumnus and benefactor Claude W. Pettit, the college has built a reputation for producing practice-ready lawyers, particularly for careers in Ohio and the surrounding region. Its small class sizes and low student-faculty ratio allow for close mentorship, a hallmark of the ONU Law experience.
