Overview
Founded in 1896 by William Merritt Chase, Parsons School of Design is one of the oldest and most prestigious art and design schools in the United States. Originally known as the Chase School, it evolved through several names before becoming Parsons, named after Frank Alvah Parsons who pioneered modern design education. The school became part of The New School in 1970 and has since built an international reputation for excellence in fashion design, product design, architecture, and communication design, producing influential designers who shape global creative industries.
