Overview
Founded in 1877 by the Methodist Episcopal Church, Philander Smith College is one of the oldest historically Black colleges west of the Mississippi River. Located in Little Rock, Arkansas, the college has a long tradition of producing graduates who go on to serve their communities in education, law, medicine, and public service. It is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and holds a UNCF (United Negro College Fund) membership.
