Overview
Quinnipiac University was founded in 1929 as the Connecticut College of Commerce, initially serving a small group of local students seeking practical business education. Over the decades it expanded significantly, adding schools of health sciences, law, medicine, education, and communications, and rebranding as Quinnipiac University in 2000. Today it is best known for its highly regarded physician assistant, nursing, occupational therapy, and journalism programs, as well as its polling institute, the Quinnipiac University Poll, which is nationally recognized for political and public opinion research.
