Founded in 1885, Rollins College is the oldest recognized institution of higher education in Florida, established shortly after the state itself was settled by pioneers seeking to bring New England-style liberal arts education to the South. The college has built a reputation for its small class sizes, personalized instruction, and the innovative Conference Plan teaching method historically associated with its academic culture.
