Overview
Rutgers Law School traces its origins to the Newark Law School (founded 1908) and the South Jersey Law School in Camden (founded 1926), both of which became part of Rutgers University over the ensuing decades. In 2015, the two long-separate divisions were unified into a single, two-campus law school, creating one of the largest law schools in the nation by enrollment. It has built a reputation for producing practice-ready lawyers, with particular strength in clinical education, public interest law, and pipelines into New Jersey's legal, judicial, and government sectors.
