Overview
Founded in 1847 in Lebanon, Tennessee, as part of Cumberland University, the Cumberland School of Law is one of the oldest law schools in the United States. It relocated to Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1961 and has since built a reputation for rigorous legal education with a strong emphasis on practical skills, trial advocacy, and professional ethics. The school is particularly well known for its nationally competitive mock trial and moot court programs.
