Overview
Schreiner University was founded in 1923 as Schreiner Institute, a junior college for men established by Captain Charles Schreiner, and became a four-year coeducational institution in 1971. Affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), the university has built a reputation for small classes, close faculty mentorship, and a strong emphasis on experiential and values-based education. It is best known for its nursing, business, and natural sciences programs, as well as its Cailloux School of Business and Learning Support Services program for students with learning differences.
