Overview
Southwestern Oklahoma State University was founded in 1901 as Southwestern Normal School to train teachers for the Oklahoma Territory, later evolving into a comprehensive regional university. Headquartered in Weatherford, Oklahoma, SWOSU is best known for its College of Pharmacy, one of the few pharmacy schools in the state, and for its strong programs in education, nursing, and the sciences.
