Overview
Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology was founded in 1928 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as the Spartan School of Aeronautics, originally established by oil businessman William G. Skelly. It grew to become one of the oldest and most respected aviation trade schools in the United States, training thousands of pilots and aircraft mechanics, including military aviators during World War II. The institution is best known for its hands-on technical training in aviation maintenance, avionics, and flight training programs rather than traditional liberal arts education.
