Overview
Founded in 1811 as one of the oldest medical programs in the United States, the medical school was renamed in 2007 following a landmark gift from businessman Warren Alpert. It offers a distinctive Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME), an eight-year combined BA/MD track that allows students to pursue undergraduate studies before entering medical school without the traditional MCAT-driven admissions pressure.
