Overview
Founded in 2007, the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix emerged as Arizona's second allopathic medical school, established to address the state's physician shortage and expand medical education in the rapidly growing Phoenix metropolitan area. Located in downtown Phoenix's Biomedical Campus, the school has quickly built a reputation for innovative curriculum design, community-engaged medical education, and strong partnerships with Phoenix-area hospitals including Banner University Medical Center. It achieved full independent LCME accreditation in 2015, cementing its status as a distinct institution from the Tucson-based College of Medicine.
