Overview
Founded in 1873 as Branch Normal College, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is one of the nation's oldest historically Black colleges and universities and Arkansas's second land-grant institution. Originally established to educate freed slaves and their descendants, UAPB has grown into a comprehensive university offering undergraduate and graduate programs while maintaining its mission of providing accessible, quality education.
