Overview
Founded in 1892, the Sturm College of Law is the oldest law school in Colorado and one of the oldest continuously operating law schools west of the Mississippi. Renamed in 2002 after a major gift from alumnus Philip J. Anschutz in honor of Donald and Susan Sturm, the school has built a reputation for strong experiential learning, particularly in environmental and natural resources law, tax law, and legal writing pedagogy. It has consistently ranked among the top programs nationally for legal writing and part-time/evening JD offerings.
