Overview
Founded in 1908 as the University of Omaha, a private municipal institution, the school joined the University of Nebraska system in 1968 and became the University of Nebraska Omaha. It has grown into the state's premier metropolitan university, known for its criminal justice, information technology, aviation, and public administration programs, as well as strong ties to the Omaha business and civic community.
