Overview
Founded in 1997, the William S. Boyd School of Law is the first and only law school in the state of Nevada, established to meet the growing legal needs of a rapidly expanding state. Named for benefactor William S. Boyd, a prominent Las Vegas gaming executive whose family foundation provided significant funding, the school quickly earned ABA accreditation and has since built a strong regional reputation, particularly in gaming law, litigation, and clinical education. It is known for a rigorous first-year curriculum, strong bar passage rates, and close ties to Nevada's legal and business communities.
