Overview
Founded in 1874 as a normal school for teacher training, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls has grown into a comprehensive public university within the University of Wisconsin System. It is particularly well known for its College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences, which operates a working campus farm and is one of the most respected agricultural programs in the Upper Midwest. Over time the institution expanded into business, education, arts and sciences, and professional studies while maintaining a strong reputation for hands-on, applied learning.
