Overview
Founded in 1858, Winona State University is the oldest member of the Minnesota State system and one of the first state normal schools west of the Mississippi River, originally established to train teachers. Over time it expanded into a comprehensive public university offering undergraduate and graduate programs across nursing, business, education, and the liberal arts. WSU is particularly well regarded for its nursing program and its business college, which holds AACSB accreditation, placing it among a select group of business schools nationally.
